For My Head:
Born On Third
This song title was inspired by my friend Mark Weissman.
War In My Head
This song was written when I was in the process of transitioning from being a full-time musician, to a software developer. For me the song represents the conflicted feelings I was experiencing at that time between the need to survive as an artist, and the need to provide for my family. This song is dedicated to my pal Wayne Zito
Lament
More of me wallowing in self pity....LOL The song itself is very much influenced by my friend Jamie Finegan. The solo section is a nod to Herbie Hancock's "Maiden Voyage". The performance features me on acoustic guitar as well as Wayne Zito on bass. Ed Jurazinsky was nice enough to come down to my house to track drums. Due to technical difficulties (my own incompetence) I couldn't keep is track, but while his drums were at the house I managed to track a ride cymbal (with a pencil as a stick) and a bass drum. Sorry Ed.
Guitar Solo
Me stretching out late at night over a 7/4 groove.
Media:
Computer Farm
The song was written to be the lead-in for a for a Cable TV show that deals with Wall Street trading ala "The Bloomberg Report". The title was inspired by a conversation with a fellow software developer regarding the process of linking computers together to harness their combined CPU power. The melodic fragment/harmonization that appears throughout was inspired by Herbie Hancock. The ostinato in the last half of the song is a blatant rip-off of King Crimson's "Discipline". The performance features me on guitar as well as my friend David Livolsi on bass.
